Yesterday was such a tiring day!!!!

Dar came to fetch me after work as usual, then we make our way to United Square for the famous fish been hoon. Saw my cousin Annie on the way there.

Following that, we made our way to Asian Civilisation Musuem for the Journey of Faith exhibit.

Entrance to ACM - Journey of Faith Posted by Hello

Inside, we also get to see other exhibits from Southeast Asia, different religions and cultural items. Oh ya.. and we met dar's SIP LO, Wallace, inside! Always see him everywhere we go de... haa..

Anyway, the Journey of Faith exhibit was quite an experience. Dar and me may not be christians, but the exhibits really made you go 'wow'. I specially loved those paintings!!

When you first enter Journey of Faith, they talk about christ and his cruxification. Following that, they will focus alot on Saint Peter and Saint Paul, how they preach, and their death. Then next up will be Saint Helena and her son Constantine. They spoke of how Saint Helena started for Jerusalem hoping to find the holy cross. There was a small part on Saint Matthew and how he spread christianity to the East. Then came the part on how they build St Peter's Basilica. Lastly, they featured items of the Pope, and the journey ended with a famous painting of Pope John Paul II.

Too bad photography isn't allow inside. >.<
So as below, i had browse through the internet, found some pictures that's exactly the same as what was featured in the exhibition.

That evening, dar and me met up with Rong Chang and Ms Yip for dinner in Plaza Singapura. Gawd...i had never had a more filling dinner...

We went to Thai Express. Ms Yip ordered 5 side dishes, and 4 main dishes for us!! I ordered shrimp paste rice, Dar ordered kway tiao soup, Rong Chang ordered noodle soup and Ms Yip ordered green curry rice. Then she ordered pineapple salad, seafood salad, fried chicken wings, fried prawn rolls, fried kway tiao, and drinks for each of us!
Gawd... all for 4 person meal!!

Never been so full... we sat there from 7pm to 10pm.

When we were done chatting and eating, Ms Yip said it's time for desserts! However, since she doesn't like the dessert from Thai Express, she suggests that we go somewhere else, Cafe Cartel or Swensen. Haa... the 3 of us were like 'huh??'

Since Cafe Cartel is always crowded, we went to Swensen, which was right next door only!!! Each of us ordered 1 ice-cream.

We ended our meal at 11pm.

haa..
What a DINNER!!!

Argh...

Why do i always seems to be the target of those lao ah pek.

I was waiting for my train in Novena after work, when this 50+ years old ah pek came towards me. He stood right in front of me between me and the mrt door, then mumbled something, his breath reek with alcohol.

Eeeewww......

I was freak out initially, coz he was standing so close to me. Then i ignored him and moved backwards.

First was the incident in SGH during my attachment, which freak me out till dar has to send me home for the entire week. Now this....

It's weekends again!!!
=D

Dar met me after work to go Guanying Temple to pray, after that which we treat ourselves to Sakae Sushi. *yummy*
We ate lotsa salmon today!! Both raw and cook...
So nicee!!

Then I went to a new pair of shoes... Dar chose it for me.
One thing about dar when shopping with him, is that he usually keeps quiet till i ask him for comments. But when he suddenly say "that pair's nice", his taste never goes wrong. It means it's a 'must-get'.
hahaa...

This was what happen for my sandals today. Even though dar seldom comment much, but his eyes are pretty sharp! He keeps a look-out for nice things when i'm shopping, though he often gives me the 'i'm so bored' expression.. =P

Following that, we went to Suntec to get a belt (getting it on behalf of mummy) for my grandpa, whom my relatives and I are meeting later for a Father's Day celebration.

Dar went off for dinner with his relatives, I met up with my sister and made our way to meet the rest of my relatives. Gawd.. the bus we were suppose to catch in Marina Bay took freaking long time to arrive! We spent more than 15 mins waiting for that 1 bus!!!

Once the bus was here.. everyone rush and push forward. Argh!!
But well... the steamboat was rather nice!!!
There were clams, cockles, prawns, crab...all kind of seafood, plus the seasoned chicken, mutton..lotsa meat.... and veggies...

My sis and I ate the most.. lol..
But.. compare to what we ate on buffet normally.... this amount was considered as very little!!
lolx..

I think both my sis and i freaked the rest of my relatives with our 'intake'.
haha...

On the way back home in MRT.... both of us gotta confined ourselves to a 2-seater... coz we smell of bbq... haha...
Stinky!!!!!

Work has always been the same, so nothing to update. My validation will commence tomorrow... and go on for a week! So wish me luck people!!!

Anyway, saw Pooi Leng in TTSH yesterday. Finally, a familiar face in a sea of strangers!! =)

Over the weekends, I've been spending practically every minute with dar. We must sooo treasure the weekend now!! Used to see each other all the time... and now... have to reduce to 1.5days a week (saturday work 1/2 day).
>.<"

Oh ya....
Asian Civilisation Museum will be opening its latest collection "Journey of Faith" to public this coming Saturday! The magnificant collection is transported from Vatican Musuem!!! Amazing isn't it!!

Ever since I've been introduce to Vatican City from Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, i'm been drawn towards it. It's a must-see!!!

I was told today, what would my validation process be like....

For the benefit of the non-science people, to be able to work in a cleanroom or isolated room making IV bags or syringes, the operator need to be validated.

He/she needs to go through sorta a test in making these products, to make sure he/she is capable of making microbe-free products. Of couse, he/she need to pass it, or take a re-test. After all... these medication goes straight into the bloodstream, so it is crucial that the operator is qualified.

Okie... for mine.. to be qualified to make TPN bags, my validation process is a killer!!!

I have to make 7 sets of 7 nutrition broths... and make sure they are microbe-free!! So in total, i have to make 49 bags of microbe-free broth!!! I'm sure everyone knows that broth = food for microbes... make 49 microbe-free broths??
*gasp*

Furthermore... I still have to inject medication from ampoules, vials, transfer solution from other IV bags blah blah...
The whole process is not easy okie!! Still have to be aseptic somemore...
>.<"

Okie.. i'll stop grumbling

On a happier note...
I've overcome my phobia of breaking ampoules!!! *cheers*
Heck... cut myself once, i'll make sure it'll never ever happen again!!!

Oh ya.. my wound is excreting exudate, it's healing! *yeaa*

But... got myself a cut from breaking ampoules...
Quite a deep cut... wouldn't clot even after 20mins.... used up so many tissue papers... >.<
A small slice of flesh dropped off... I know...

It's gross... =x

Everything is going on fine, but i hate calculations.... jeez..

First day at work.

The environment was okiee.... nice people...
It is a small working group consist of 3 pharmacist and 3 PTs (including me, but one is leaving soon... which i'm supposed to replace).

Read 2 huge ring files of SOPs...
I had kinda expected it, from what dar had told me about lab job.
Finally got a taste of what it's like....

Got to do some packing of TPN bags and Cytotoxic drugs, and learnt how to clean up cytotoxic spillage too!

We had lunch at 2pm, which is the usual lunch hour for them, or even later at 2+pm. Everyone goes for lunch together, which is nice actually.

Time passed rather quickly today, which is good.

What's even better is, i don't feel as tired as i did during SIP, the picking and packing of medication... standing whole day behind medicine cabinet....
Gawd..

But still... now i've got lots to learn about TPN and cytotoxic drugs... the calculation... which i'm not even familiar at all!

The HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a HUGE disappointment!!!

Utterly rotten movie.
A Truckload of rubbish!

Ever since the conversation that we had last Sunday, it had cast a shadow over my cousins and me. I believed the talk had shaken some of our views... we had lost our footing, as it threatens against our traditional believes and values.

While I do believe in individualism, I don't blame her for what she did. I respect her decision, her view, her choice. But that doesn't mean I have to agree with everything she said, or what she did.

There is no right or wrong... After all, to each his/her own. I admired her courage to share her experience and view, her unwavering believe of no regrets, and most of all, her strength to sought after her own happiness.

Today, I read an article in The Straits Times Urban, which got my own belief back on track.

The article provides the solution to a reader's question about worrying sexual incompatiblity if he practised abstinence before marriage.

As below.. I had pick out some of the important points mentioned in the article.

'Love and marriage are more than sex alone. While, yes, sex is important, it is only one component of many other important parts in a marriage. In the hierarchy of importance, wouldn't respect for each other's needs be at the top of the list?

As individuals, one can't be realistically be on the same wavelength all of the time.

Therefore, another important aspect of marriage is the ability to communicate and convey your own values, dreams and hopes to each other. As a consequence, a good interactional fit is marked by finding common ground and tuning into each other's world view.

In an ideal situation, such a perfect fit will sustain the marriage through time, various pressure and stress. This makes marriage more complex than the need to fulfill each other's sexual needs.

However, as the author's colleague once said, "If people are to find their compatible life partners throught sexual fit, then some men would have found theirs in brothel."

If a girl is clear about her gift of virginity to her future husband, the gift that her guy could present to the girl would be the gift of patience. The waiting game to find if both are sexually compatible will be the gamble that both will have to take.

Hopefully in the process, both will learn about respect, admiration for each other and the endearing silly things that both do which puts a smile on each other's face.

It's the same X factor that still keeps grandparents together, even when they are not sexually active anymore.

Just like a cheeseburger, marriage is more than just cheese and bun. It's the beef patty, lettuce, tomato, etc.

Hence, any major life deicison is worth a lot more consideration than just sex factor.'

- The Straits Times Urban, 02 June 2005, Carol Balhetchet

I hope this article will shed some light on everyone, especially my cousins, and find the answers that you need.
